Nigerian R&B star Tems has opened up about the complexities of her celebrity status in Nigeria. In a podcast interview with Big Boy TV in the US, Tems shared that her fame makes it difficult for her to move freely in Nigeria.
“I used to drive in Nigeria, but now I can’t drive. I almost got mobbed last December,” Tems recalled. “If I want to drive, I must have police escorts at the front and the back.”
As an introvert, Tems admitted struggling with fame initially but has since adjusted. Her rise to international stardom, including collaborations with Justin Bieber and Drake, has cemented her status as a global music sensation.
